Punishment for Ranjan after taking selfie in prison
Imprisoned MP Ranjan Ramanayake who took a selfie with MP Harshana Rajakaruna has been banned from having visitors for two weeks after he was found guilty for violating prison rules in an inquiry held today.
“Ranjan Ramanayake banned from having visitors for 14 days from today after accepting he assisted MP Harshana Rajakaruna to take a selfie with him” Prisons Spokesman told reporters.
A prison official was also suspended for permitted Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha Rajakaruna to take a selfie with imprisoned SJB MP Ranjan Ramanayake.
MP Rajakaruna had taken the photograph during his visit to the Angunukolapelessa Prison and had published the picture of himself and MP Ramanayake on his personal Facebook account.
