News regarding lower levels of oxygen in Colombo, false
The Ministry of Environment states that the news that is being circulated noting that the level of oxygen in Colombo city is yet to confirmed by a widespread optical survey.
Ministry Secretary, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, said that the news that the oxygen levels have reduced according to a committee report appointed to probe the matter was false, as if it was the case it would affect the survival of the flora and fauna..
A team of officials from the Central Environmental Authority and the Air Resources Management and National Ozone Unit of the Ministry of Environment had investigated the matter
