International study regarding local tremors
A study was launched with international geologists on recent tremors in several parts of the island.
According to the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau, discussions are currently underway with experts in Australia and Canada on Zoom technology.
Minor tremors were reported in the Kandy-Digana and Pallekele areas as well as in the Lunugala-Akiriya area in recent days.
Chairman of the Geological Survey and Mining Bureau Anura Walpola said that further action will be taken after considering the study reports of the relevant international geological explorers.
