Two suspects who were ready throw drugs over Negombo Prison wall arrested
Police have arrested two suspects who were preparing to throw drugs and tobacco over the wall of the Negombo Prison.
Police said that 8 grams of heroin, 7 cigarettes, a mobile phone, a charger and 9 lighters were found in the possession of the suspects.
Officers on roadblock duty near the Negombo Prison had searched two suspects yesterday morning and had arrested two suspects along with drugs and other equipment.
Upon further questioning, the suspects had revealed the details of the incident.
One suspect is a 31-year-old resident of Negombo while the other is a 49-year-old resident of Seeduwa.
They are to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today
