Minister Prasanna justifies daughter’s appointment to diplomatic post
Appointments to Foreign Services must be granted to people sincerely working for the Government, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga told reporters.
He pointed out that if people working against the Government are appointed to Foreign Services positions, then it will lead to the creation of an anti-Government view within the international community.
Journalists questioned the Minister on his daughter’s appointment as the third Secretary to the Sri Lankan Mission in Australia.
Responding to the question, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga revealed his daughter had received the position after submitting a request in this regard.
