Turmeric hidden in salt consignment apprehended

Four suspects were arrested this morning along with two lorries transporting a consignment of turmeric hidden in a consignment of salt.

At the time of the raid by the Anamaduwa Police, the suspects had planned to transport the consignment of turmeric in 19 bags under the salt packets to Nikaweratiya and Gampola areas.

The suspects are residents of Puttalam and Gampola
