Record number of tourists arrive at Mattala Airport
Mattala International Airport has received over 2500 foreign tourists so far in the year 2021.
After its opening to Astana Airlines in Kazakhstan, 160 tourists arrived as part of the country's tourism revival program.
Aitken Spence, a local travel agency, said it planned to bring in 350 tourists a week from Kazakhstan until April this year.
In addition to Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan, Scott Airlines will also be flying to Mattala International Airport until April.
