Decline in Sri Lankan tea prices
Since the purchases by Russia have slowed down due to the winter, the Sri Lankan tea prices have declined slightly. In recent weeks, Sri Lankan tea prices rose due to Russian purchases.
At the final tea auction, 5.9 million kilograms of tea and 700,000 kilograms of tea sold from estates have been sold.
The average price of a kilogram of low country tea fell by Rs. 24 to Rs. 668 from the previous week.
From January to October this year, the average price of a kilogram of Sri Lankan tea has been Rs. 625.35, up from Rs. 540.15 last year.
