Sri Lanka tour of West Indies cancelled

The Sri Lanka Cricket says that the forthcoming tour of the Sri Lanka team to the West Indies will be cancelled.

This was confirmed by the Chairman of Cricket Institute Shammi Silva.

Accordingly, it was decided to postpone the tour to the West Indies indefinitely.

Sri Lanka Cricket's Head coach Mickey Arthur and player Lahiru Thirimanne were ruled out of the squad due to COVID infection.

Sri Lanka's 35-member squad for the forthcoming West Indies Test series was divided into three teams and trained at separate times at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Meanwhile, Lahiru Thirimanne and other cricketers were present at Sadheera Samarawickrema's wedding recently.
All participants in the event have now been referred for self-quarantine.
