Four containers of illegally imported plant waste returned to Ukraine
The Customs Department today took action to return four containers containing plant waste parts imported from Ukraine claiming to be coriander.
On December 10 last year, while inspecting a container for a document submitted for clearance, eight containers containing plant waste parts were found in the Orugodawatta yard.
Further investigations have revealed that there are 20 more containers containing plant waste in the Port of Colombo.
Four of the eight containers in the Orugodawatta yard were sent back to Ukraine today.
