Ceylon Tea to receive scientific certificate
The Atomic Energy Board and the Sri Lanka Tea Research Institute are entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today for a pilot project to issue a scientific certificate with a geographical indicator for Sri Lankan tea, said Atomic Energy Board Chairperson Prof. S.R.D. Rosa.
He said that this would scientifically confirm the possibility of substandard tea being mixed with Sri Lankan tea and damaging the reputation of Ceylon Tea.
