Covid: 6 shops closed in Borella, contact tracing begins in Maradana girl’s school

Six stores have been temporarily closed in the Borella Town.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that three individuals from a group living in a hostel on Leslie Ranagala Mawatha in Borella had tested positive for COVID-19.

The infected patients are reported to have visited the 6 stores in the Borella town over the past few days.

As a result, health authorities have instructed the six stores to be temporarily closed as a precautionary measure.

DIG Ajith Rohana added that the health authorities have also instructed people living in and around the area in which the patients were detected to self-isolate.

Meanwhile, a grade 08 student of a girl’s school in Maradana has tested positive for COVID-19.
The student has been identified as a resident of Veyangoda.

According to the Office of the Senior DIG of the Western Province the student and his entire family have contracted the virus.

Health authorities have commenced contact tracing to obtain details of the student’s associates from school.
