Flooding in the next six hours with the opening of the sluice gates
The Irrigation Department warns that the Karuwalagaswewa - Wanathawilluwa Divisional Secretariat could be slightly flooded due to the opening of the sluice gates of the Rajanganaya Reservoir due to heavy rains.
Due to the opening of the sluice gates of the reservoir, the use of Kalaoya is also dangerous and the people in the low lying areas around the Kalaoya valleys should be vigilant, the department said in a statement.
Accordingly, there is a possibility of minor floods in the Karuwalagaswewa - Wanathawilluwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions within the next 6 hours, the Irrigation Department said.
