215 UKRAINIAN TOURISTS TO ARRIVE TODAY (02)

Another batch of 215 tourists from Ukraine will arrive in the island on Saturday (Jan. 02) as part of the tourism revival pilot project, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said.

They will be quarantined for 14 days as per the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health with regard to the Tourism Revival Pilot Project, Dhammika Wijesinghe, the Director-General at the SLTDA said on Saturday (Jan. 02).

According to Wijesinghe, there are 389 tourists from Ukraine currently quarantined in the country.

Of the 389 tourists, five have contracted COVID-19; however, the rest will not be affected, the Tourism Development Authority insisted.

The tourists from Ukraine are scheduled to visit selected tourist destinations on the Southern coast once the quarantine process concludes.
