Mahara Prison unrest: Incident report to be submitted to Court within one week
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a report on the Mahara prison unrest will be submitted to the court within a week.
He was responding to a query made by Hiru News over a press conference held by a group of relatives of the detainees who died in the incident demanding a fair investigation.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that statements were recorded from more than 150 people inside and outside the prison regarding the incident.
He also stated that the postmortem examinations of three of the 11 prisoners who died will be completed in the next few days.
The postmortem examination of eight inmates who died in unrest at the Mahara Prison on 29 November has revealed that they had been shot dead.
