2 wards of Horana Base Hospital closed after 2 nurses detected with COVID-19

Wards No.09 and 05 of the Horana Base Hospital have been temporarily closed after two nurses were detected with COVID-19.

A hospital sources said the husband of one nurse is an employee of the apparel factory in Minuwangoda where the recent coronavirus cluster was detected.

The man and another family member have tested positive for COVID-19 as well.

The two nurses and the other two patients have been admitted to the Dr. Neville Fernando and IDH hospitals.

Meanwhile, a minor staff member attached to the Gampaha hospital has also been detected with COVID-19.

The individual has been identified as a resident of Minuwangoda.
