Archbishop condemns TV channels for broadcasting Christmas events with guests in revealing attire
Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Rajith has called on media organizations to refrain from broadcasting Christmas events attended by some guests in revealing attire.
Stating that Christmas is not about events promoting fun, the Archbishop said it is a time to focus on spirituality.
His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Rajith said the Catholic Bishop Conference is against holding such events in the name of Christmas.
He further requested the Government, and Private and Public institutions to refrain from holding large scale events for Christmas.
The Archbishop instead urged the Government and institutions to donate the cost of such events to the public who have been affected due to the coronavirus pandemic.
