New Police Spokesman appointed
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana has been appointed as the new Police Media Spokesman.
DIG Rohana, who has served as the Police spokesman on previous occasions, replaces Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jaliya Senaratne.
It is speculated SSP Senaratne may have been removed from his post following issues raised over his statements to media on the arrest and release of MP Rishad Bathiudeen’s brother Riyad Bathiudeen.
