Police seek public support to find escaped Covid patient
A special operation has been launched to apprehend a COVID-19 patient who had escaped from his treatment facility in Ragama.
The patient is said to have escaped from the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama this morning.
The man, who is a resident of 307 –watte in Peliyagoda.
The result of the PCR test conducted last night had revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The hospital had received the test results this morning, by the time which the patient had escaped.
The Police Media Unit said it is suspected that the patient who is addicted to drugs may have escaped in search of drugs.
According to the Ada newspaper the man is not part of the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster. (NewsWire)
