Isolation lifted in some areas, as several areas declared as isolated

Several isolation restrictions in Colombo and Gampaha Districts were lifted at 05:00 a.m. today (07) morning. Accordingly, the isolation restrictions imposed in the Bloemandhal Police Division and in Wijayapura Grama Niladhari Division in Wellampitiya Police Division will be lifted from 05:00 a.m. today (07).

In the Gampaha District, Wattala Police Division all areas except Kelawarapitiya, Hekitta, Kurunduhena, Awariwatta and Welikadamulla Grama Niladhari Divisions were released from isolation restrictions as well. The isolation restriction in Kelaniya Police Division was also lifted earlier today (07).

The Government Information Department stated that steps were taken to isolate few other areas in Colombo and Gampaha Districts from 05:00 a.m. today (07) which includes Hunupitiya Grama Niladhari Division in the Slave Island Police Division, '60-watta' in the Cinnamon Gardens Police Division and the Kokila Road in the Wellawatte Police Division.

The Welegoda North Grama Niladhari Division in Kiribathgoda was isolated as well. '

Isolation restrictions imposed on Modera, Kotahena, Grand Pass, Dam Street, Keselwatte, Maligawatte, Dematagoda and Maradana Police Division in the Colombo District as well as the Wekanda Grama Niladhari Division in Slave Island Police Division, Wanathamulla Grama Niladhari Division in Borella, Salamulla and Laksanda Sevana Housing scheme in Wellampitiya will continue

The isolation imposed on the Randiya Uyana Housing scheme and the southern part of Ferguson Road in Mattakkuliya will continue as well.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Railways stated that the trains operated will not halt at the Hunipitya Railway Station as the Welegoda North Grama Niladhari Division will be declared as isolated.

Furthermore, the trains will not halt at Maradana, Dematagoda, Kelaniya and Baseline Road stations.

Meanwhile, the news was reported from isolated Atalugama, Bandalgama yesterday (06) where a sister had beaten her brother to death with a sharp weapon. The victim was identified to be 31-years-old. The police stated that the reason for the incident was an argument between the pair. The sister was arrested in connection with the incident.
