Heavy showers about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Northern, North-central and North-western provinces.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

A few showers may occur in the Nothern and Eastern provinces, particularly in the morning.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western provinces during the morning.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanthurai and Trincomalee . Showers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island.

Winds:

Winds will be south-easterly to easterly in the sea areas extending from Kankasanthurai to Pottuvil via Trincomalee and the wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea area around the island and the wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.

State of Sea:

The sea areas extending from Kankasanthurai to Pottuvil via Trincomalee will be moderate. The other sea area around the island will be slight.
