Special plan to counter COVID-19 spread in prisons
A special plan is being implemented to counter to the spread of COVID-19 in prisons, health officials said Friday.
The plan would involve identifying infected cases, providing treatment, and establishing quarantine facilities, Dr Hemantha Herath, the deputy director-general of public health services said.
“Our plan will also involve remand prisoners who are released on bail,” he noted.
