Colombo reports highest cases in second Covid-19 wave
The Colombo district is reporting the highest number of cases in the second Covid-19 wave
From 04 October to date, a total of 8,798 were found from the district.
Colombo accounted for 223 of the 487 new cases reported yesterday (28), says the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak.
Also, 78 and 15 cases respectively were found from Gampaha and Kandy districts.
In the meantime, the clusters from the Brandix factory at Minuwangoda and the fish market at Peliyagoda account for 19,450 patients.
Of them, 13,223 have recovered.
The isolation of the Pettah, Foreshore and Mattakkuliya police division areas in Colombo district and Negombo and Ragama in Gampaha district will be lifted at 5.00 am tomorrow, says Army commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.
In a statement quoting the Army chief, the Government Information Department says the Randiya Uyana housing scheme and Ferguson Road south area in Mattakkuliya police division will be isolated from 5.00 am tomorrow
So will the Laksanda Sevana housing scheme at Wellampitiya and Salamulla and Vijayapura Grama Niladhari division areas, it adds.
