5,114 people in 47 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine
A total of 559 people were confirmed positive to COVID-19 on Thursday (26).
Among them, 553 are from local contacts, 5 Sri Lankan expatriates and one seafarer from Greece.
The majority of those infected ones were from Colombo areas (253), Gampaha areas (65) and Kalutara areas (35), stated the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 Friday morning (27), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 18,487.
Of them, 3,059 were from the Minuwangoda cluster and all other 15,428 were from the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster.
Meanwhile, 12,014 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda and fish market clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
15,815 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,113 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
To-date, 99 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported.
As of this morning (27), the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 50 passengers and the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 52 passengers, the flight UL 607 from Australia with 191 passengers, and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 12 passengers have arrived in Colombo.
Likewise, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 75 passengers is expected to reach Colombo.
All those passengers were/ were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of this morning (27), 5,114 persons in 47 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
Within yesterday (26), 12,105 PCR tests were carried out.
