3,281 people in 33 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine
On Monday (16) a total of 382 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19, and 08 of them are seafarers (5 Locals and 3 Foreigners) and all other 374 were from locally-identified affectees.
Of those individuals, 231 are from Colombo, 42 from Gampaha, and 20 from Kalutara, stated the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 AM on Tuesday (17), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 14,154.
As of Tuesday (17), 8,381 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.
As of Monday (16), a total of 17,668 persons were confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country.
11,805 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and 5,802 cases are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
To-date, 61 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported.
Monday’s 03 deaths were from Colombo 13, 10, and Moratuwa areas.
As of this morning (17), the flight EY 264 from Dubai with 26 persons, the flight QR 668 from Doha- Qatar with 37 passengers, and the flight UL 218 from Doha-Qatar with 22 passengers arrived in Colombo.
All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of Tuesday (17), 3,281 persons in 33 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
On Monday (16), 10,713 PCR tests were carried out.
