No power cuts due to coal shortages, assures Energy Minister
Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation and Energy, Anura Karunathilaka, has assured that no power cuts will be imposed in the future due to any shortage of coal.
The Minister stated that the public should not be unduly concerned by claims made by certain opposition figures regarding the possibility of power disruptions resulting from coal shortages.
Minister Karunathilaka added that an additional 400 megawatts of electricity generated through wind power projects is expected to be connected to the national grid within the next year, further enhancing the country's renewable energy capacity.
