Government increases fees for company, society registrations
The government has increased the fees for registering companies and societies.
The gazette notification in this regard has been issued by the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe.
Under the revised fee structure, the registration fee for a private limited company has been increased from Rs. 4,600 to Rs. 5,200.
The fee for registering a public limited company has been raised from Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 26,400, while the registration fee for an unlimited company has increased from Rs. 17,250 to Rs. 19,800.
The fee for company name approval has also been revised upward from Rs. 2,300 to Rs. 2,600.
Meanwhile, the fee for registering a society has been increased from Rs. 3,450 to Rs. 3,900, while the fee for amending a society's constitution has been raised from Rs. 1,725 to Rs. 1,900.
The revised fees were published in a gazette notification issued by the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development.
