Bio-samples from Matara prison returned positive for brain fever.
Among the bio-samples taken from several sick inmates of Matara prison, it has been confirmed that one of the bio-samples returned as brain fever.
According to the Prison Health Director Dr. Hemantha Ranasinghe, this was confirmed by the Borella Medical Research Institute.
Only four out of the samples sent to the Medical Research Institute have been tested so far.
Dr. Ranasinghe said that One of the bio samples has been confirmed as positive.
