Drinking dispute turns deadly in Jaffna
A 36-year-old man has been killed following an assault with a beer bottle in the Jaffna area, Police said.
The incident took place in Gurunagar on Sunday night following an argument between two individuals who were consuming alcohol.
Police said the suspect had attacked the victim using a beer bottle during the altercation. The injured man was admitted to the Jaffna Hospital, where he later died.
A 42-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Further investigations are underway.
