'Fantastic Beasts 3': Johnny Depp to earn a full salary of USD 10 million for shooting just one scene? Find out
Actor Johnny Depp, who was asked to resign from his role as Gellert Grindelwald from the popular Fantastic Beasts film series, is reported to earn a full salary of USD 10 million for just shooting one scene in the third instalment of the film.
According to a Hollywood portal, the 57-year-old actor has just shot one scene since the filming began in September before leaving the franchise. While Depp was reportedly asked to resign after he lost his libel case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, his pay-or-play contract makes the makers of Fantastic Beasts compensate him fully whether or not the film is made and even if he is recast.
Meanwhile, talking about the project, Depp had made a small appearance in the first instalment of the Fantastic Beasts instalment and went on to become the main antagonist in the 2018 sequel 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald'. It was also reported that Depp was about to enjoy equal screen time as lead actors Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law in the third film.
The makers of 'Fantastic Beasts 3' have announced that the film will be releasing in theatres on July 15, 2022.
