CAA Recovers Rs. 285 Million in Fines Following Nationwide Crackdown on Errant Traders
The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has taken legal action against 21,000 traders over the past year for violating the Consumer Affairs Authority Act.
According to the Authority, approximately Rs. 285 million in fines has been recovered from the offenders.
To ensure the quality of essential goods, the CAA also conducted rigorous testing on 223 samples of both food and non-food products during this period.
