New Fuel Pipeline from Kolonnawa to Colombo Port
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has announced plans to construct a new fuel pipeline connecting the Kolonnawa petroleum storage terminal to the Colombo Port, in a move aimed at modernizing the country’s fuel transport infrastructure.
Managing Director of CEYPETCO, Dr. Mayura Neththikumara, stated that the decision was prompted by frequent leakages observed in the existing pipeline, which was originally constructed in the 1940s.
The current pipeline spans approximately six kilometers and has been in use for over eight decades.
