Met. Dept. issues advisory for severe lightning
Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Island, the Department of Meteorology said in a weather advisory published today (05).
Heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at some places in Central, North-Central, Uva, North-Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
the Met. Department has requested the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
