Over 18,000 Metric Tons of Salt Imported to Sri Lanka
A total of 18,163 metric tons of salt has been imported into the country between May 22 and June 7.
The total value of the imported salt is reported to be Rs. 1,291 million, with Rs. 571 million already spent on the imports so far.
The planned total salt import, intended as a solution to the ongoing shortage, was 30,000 metric tons.
