
Suspect Arrested at BIA for Smuggling Foreign-Manufactured Cigarettes
A 40-year-old woman from Sevanagala has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake for attempting to smuggle foreign-manufactured cigarettes worth Rs. 3,540,000.
The woman was detained upon her return to Sri Lanka from Dubai, where officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau discovered 118 cartons containing 23,600 cigarettes hidden in her luggage.
