East Terminal Construction to be Completed by July
The Ministry of Ports and Aviation has decided to expedite the construction of the East Terminal at the Colombo Port.
According to Deputy Minister Ruwan Kodithuwakku, the construction is planned to be completed by July this year.
In a statement, Deputy Minister Kodithuwakku mentioned that the construction of the West Terminal, developed by India's Adani Group, is expected to be completed next month.
He further stated that with the completion of these two terminals, the annual container handling capacity of the Colombo Port will increase from 8 million to 13 million.
This development is expected to significantly boost the country's development process and international trade.
