AKD Calls for Mandate to Combat Drug Trade

Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate for the National People's Power, called for a decisive mandate to tackle the rampant drug trade and criminal activities plaguing the region of Kolonnawa, which is infamous for nefarious activity.

Dissanayake emphasized the urgent need for a strong government to address the deep-rooted issues in Kolonnawa, a region notorious for its ties to the underworld. 

"Kolonnawa is known across the country for its ties to the underworld and criminal activities. It’s a place where the drug trade has taken root, " he stated adding that those involved in the drug trade from Kolonnawa, also held positions of Member of Parliament.

He assured the community that the National People's Power is committed to eradicating the drug underworld from Kolonnawa, stressing that this mission requires making tough, necessary choices.

Dissanayake outlined the extensive reach of the drug trade, describing it as a well-organized structure linked to businesspeople, security personnel, and even politicians. 

To dismantle this network, Dissanayake called for strong power and the unwavering will of the people.

He urged the electorate to support the National People's Power with a majority vote to secure a safe and reliable future for Kolonnawa, free from drugs and the influence of the underworld.

Dissanayake assured the public that the National People's Power has no ties to drug businesses and does not take money from the drug trade, emphasizing that drug dealers have no influence over them.
