INS Kamorta Departs Island Concluding Formal Visit

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kamorta which arrived in Sri Lanka on 20th June 2024, departed the island yesterday, on successful completion of her formal visit. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the port of Trincomalee following naval traditions.

Meanwhile, Commander Prashant Kumar Mishra, the Commanding Officer of the ship called on Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, the Commander Eastern Naval Area at the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters on 20th June.

During the ship’s stay in Trincomalee, its crew members visited some of the tourist attractions in the country. Moreover, the crew of INS Kamorta participated in events such as a yoga programme in observance of the International Day of Yoga and a beach cleaning initiative.

INS Kamorta also welcomed school children and SLN personnel aboard for a ship visit.

On her departure, INS Kamorta engaged in a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with SLNS Samudura in the eastern seas. The PASSEX involved training exercises in communication and tactical maneuvering, concluding with the traditional cheer ship salute.
