Over 1,000 Latest Mobile Phones Seized at BIA
Authorities at Katunayake Airport apprehended two suspects in connection with the illegal import of state-of-the-art mobile phones and pen drives.
The suspects were found in possession of 1,083 latest mobile phones from various brands and 200 pen drives.
The items were allegedly brought into the country from Dubai.
The suspects, both residents of Colombo areas 12 and 14, were taken into custody.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident.
