Yukthiya nets Over 800 Suspects in 24 Hours
Sri Lanka Police said that over 800 suspects were apprehended in the ongoing "Operation Yukthiya" during the 24-hour period ending at 12:30 AM this morning.
The Ministry of Public Security reported that 815 individuals were taken into custody, with 696 apprehended for drug-related offenses.
The operation also yielded significant drug seizures, including heroin, ice, cannabis (ganja), and Mawa pills.
Furthermore, 119 suspects wanted by the criminal divisions were apprehended based on a wanted ist.
Notably, 21 individuals arrested for drug offenses were identified as prior targets by the Police Narcotics Bureau and the Police Special Bureau.
