Yukthiya Nets Eight for Illegal Prescription Drug Sales
Sri Lanka Police arrested eight individuals, including four men and four women, accused of illegally selling prescription drugs at inflated prices to drug addicts.
The arrests took place during simultaneous raids on multiple drugstores across the country.
During the operation, officers from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority seized a staggering 10,287 different types of narcotic pills, which were being sold without proper medical prescriptions.
The arrested individuals have been released on bail but will face legal action under the provisions of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act
