Joint programme to deliver medicines to homes
The Health Ministry and the Postal Department of Sri Lanka have jointly arranged a programme to distribute medicines to the homes for those receiving treatment from government hospitals and do not have enough medicine for their daily use, Director General of Health Services Dr. S. Sridharan said.
This programme is scheduled to commence today in the Kalutara and Kurunegala Districts in addition to the Colombo and Gampaha districts.
The correct name, address, clinic number and telephone number is essential to distribute medicine to the doorstep of patients.
“Therefore, you are requested to communicate through the phone with the hospital you are registered and update the above details as early as possible. The hospital staff will prepare your drugs packs including your correct address with clinic number, phone number and name of the hospital,” he said.
Medicine packs will be delivered to the relevant person by post on a regular basis during the curfew period. Patients can inform their GN or PHI to provide their correct details to the relevant hospital.
