20 places in Colombo city identified as flood-prone areas.
Acting Deputy Urban Commissioner of Colombo A.G.F. Rohana says that 20 locations have been identified within Colombo city limits, that get inundated due to heavy rains.
He says that the New Medical Faculty as well as Jethawana road are among the said locations.
He said that a main reason for the roads getting flooded is the low water drainage capacity of roads and the extreme change in weather conditions.
