Dead cop's body found in a Wewa, after liquor raid.
The body of a police officer, who was reported missing during a raid on an illegal distillery in Killinochchi, was discovered in a water body in the Malayapuram area.
A police team, including the deceased police constable, carried out a raid after being informed that an illegal liquor operation was taking place next to a canal in the Puduaiyankulam area.
Sri Lanka Police said that during the raid, the suspects who were operating the illegal distillery jumped into the canal and swam away.
The police constable in question was reported missing after an attempt was made to apprehend the suspects.
The 28-year-old deceased police constable was attached to the Killinochchi Anti Vice Division, and he was a resident of Walasmulla.
