Three Sri Lankans have died during Hajj pilgrimage this year.
According to the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs in Sri Lanka, three Sri Lankan pilgrims have passed away during the Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah and Madina this year.
- A female pilgrim from Kollonnawa passed away in Makkah due to a heart attack.
- A male pilgrim from Colombo – 14 died in Madina as a result of an accident.
- A male pilgrim from Kurunegala passed away in Makkah due to a heart attack.
All three funerals were held in Saudi Arabia, as confirmed by the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.
Over 3,000 Sri Lankans reportedly traveled for Hajj pilgrimage this year.
