42-year-old man dies after being hit by vehicle driven by wife
A 42-year-old man died after being knocked down by a vehicle driven by his wife on Welekumbura Road near Polgasowita Junction today, police said.
Police said the wife had earlier complained to the Kahathuduwa Police against the husband saying that he was addicted to drugs and often assaulted her asking for money.
After the accident, she said she was driving along the Welekumbura Road towards Polgasowita Junction when her husband jumped in front of the vehicle near a culvert.
She stated that she lost control of the vehicle that ran over him.
The suspect woman was to be produced in the court.
