Sri Lanka all out for 142
SL - 142 (20) Nissanka 72, Shamsi 3/17, Pretorius 3/17
Pathum Nissanka took Sri Lanka to a slightly below par total in a must win match against South Africa.
South Africa won the toss elected to field. Sri Lanka after a hit and miss innings against Australia began with the regular opening pair of Kusal Janith and Pathum Nissanka.
Kusal Janith yet again failed to register a decent score and was bowled going for a mighty pull. Kusal Perera's modest tournament continued, as Anrich Nortje's length ball at 144 kph was right on middle stump. Perera backs away and tried to swipe it through leg, but the middle stump was knocked to the ground.
Pathum Nissanka scored a brilliant 72 (58b 6x4 3x6) SR: 124.13, for Sri Lanka.
It took him 46 balls to get his fifty, though perhaps he would have been more aggressive if his teammates had not stumbled around him. It was a mature innings from Sri Lanka's youngest batter.
