Ranil will have to sit next to AKD when he enters Parliament
Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to be sworn in as the UNP national list MP on June 22, according to UNP Chairman Vajira Abeywardene.
“His name will be sent to the Election Commission by next Tuesday” Vajira Abeywardene said.
Ranil Wickramasinghe since 1993 has occupied only the Prime Minister’s & Opposition Leader’s seat in Parliament.
But this time if he enters Parliament, he will have to sit at a corner first row seat of the Parliament.
Parliament has already allocated a front row seat for the UNP national list nominee.
“UNP has been allocated seat number 16 in the Opposition side. So if the former PM Ranil enters Parliament he will be seated next to JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who occupies the seat number 15” Parliament official told NewsWire.
