Parliamentarians commemorate victims of Easter attacks on 2nd anniversary
Ruling and Opposition Parliamentarians today marked the 2nd anniversary of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks by observing a moments silence in memory of the victims of the attacks.
A two-minute silence and lighting of a lamp was held in memory of the Easter attacks victims under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees this morning.
Meanwhile, Opposition MPs too held a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the Easter attacks, at the Parliament complex.
All Parliamentarians who attended Parliament proceedings today also observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of the victims, following a request made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
