Notice for those who travel to Nuwara Eliya
A significant increase in tourists to Nuwara Eliya has been reported during the Avurudu festive season.
Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council Mayor Chandanalal Karunaratne said many hotels and guest houses offering accommodation are operating at full capacity due to the arrival of a large number of tourists.
He said a record number of tourists are reported to have visited Nuwara Eliya during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Karunaratne urged tourists to seek and finalise accommodation for their stay prior to arriving in Nuwara Eliya.
He further requested all tourists to strictly adhere to the health guidelines issued to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
